Happy Tuesday, folks! I hope all of you had a nice weekend! Before I get to my post for today, I want to say congrats again to Sherry and Linda, who won my blog candy. Both have contacted me and their packages will go out this week! Thanks again to everyone who "stalks" my blog! I love reading your comments, so keep 'em coming!
Here is your sketch for Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday #111. This one has tons of room for using your creativity!
Here is my sample:
When I was at the Copic Certification class last weekend, I stamped this little Lockhart Stamp Company beach chair stamp and colored it. We were working with blender techniques, and I was trying to make the chair look worn in the seat area. I did not totally achieve what I was going for, but I still think it turned out cute!
I pulled some papers that were in my past scrapbook club kits and used them. And, of course I used some Spellbinders die templates!
I hope you enjoy playing along this week. Make sure, if you are a member of CPC, that you check out the May Design Team Delights Gallery! The DT gals made some amazing projects for you! You will be seeing June sneak peeks in a week or so!
Supply List:
Cardstock: American Crafts, Die Cuts with a View, Stampin’ Up
Designer paper: Echo Park For the Record Noteworthy, Bo Bunny Double Dot Orange Citrus Flourish

Blog Candy Winners!
Wow! 361 Followers to the blog through Blogger! More via one of the other subscribe methods and Networked Blogs! Who knew when I started this little blog in 2007 that so many people would want to read it?! Especially when I think I only posted 3 times in the first two years, or something like that! {grin} I am honored and humbled by the lovely comments and support from all of you. Thank you, frequent readers!
Now, I am offering two prizes...
I gave everyone who commented on my blog candy post a number, I added in those who emailed me or left a comment on Facebook saying Google would not allow them to comment...and threw all those numbers into a Random Generator. And it drew these two gals...

I've been reading your inspiring blog via Google Reader but today I signed up as an official follower. Thanks for sharing your lovely 3:10 PM
Ladies, you have until June 4th to email me with your mailing address, and I'll get your packages off to you next week. If I don't hear from you within a week, I will draw new names. My email is in the left sidebar.
Thanks to EVERYONE who played along. I do wish I had more prizes to give out. But...maybe later in the year I can do this again! Thanks for hanging out with me. I hope to have lots of fun things to share for the second half of 2011. So, stay tuned!
During this Memorial Day weekend, I want to recognize those who serve our country in this time of war and turmoil, and to recognize those who gave up their lives for our country. I want to say thank you to my father and all four brothers who all served in our nation's military. Three of the four of you served during time of war, and praise God, came home to us. But on this day, I remember my dad and my youngest brother. Rest in Peace to my Pop, Richard LaRue Getgen who left us July 1997. And to my wonderful kid brother, Todd Dale, Getgen, who was taken from us most cruelly July 2010. I miss you both.

The Magic of Oz
Well, Graphic45 has done it again! Last year when they released Hallowe'en in Wonderland, I sort of groaned...Alice in Wonderland is one of my least favorite stories. However, once I got the paper I was very pleased with it and loved working with it. I really like the vintage images, and how easy the papers are to pair with other G45 papers.
Well, guess what my other least favorite story is? Yep! Wizard of Oz! When I found out Graphic45 was releasing The Magic of Oz, I kept my mind WAY open! I have learned to never judge what they will do when they come out with new goodies! And I am so happy! I cannot wait to get my hands on this collection. Especially this paper:
This paper is called Poppy Fields. It's BEAUTIFUL. I want packs and packs of this one! I also like this one with the ATC cards:
This paper is called Journey to Oz. It's perfect for cards and mini albums! In addition to papers and chipboard items, G45 is also releasing three stamp sets! I cannot WAIT to get my hands on this one:
I want to color Scarecrow! I just ordered (and received) new Copics in some fall color schemes! Woot woot! Make sure you check out all the new items at the Graphic45 site. You know that they will have even MORE new yummies coming for CHA in July!

CPC Sketch Tuesday #110
It's time again for Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday! I am not sure how we rolled around to Tuesday again! Time sure flies, whether you are having fun or not!
Here is Sketch #110:
It's a square sketch this week, but feel free to change it up if you prefer. Here is my card:
I found the fabbie paper at the San Diego Scrapbook Expo the end of April. It's from Simple Stories, called 100 Days of Summer. I snagged a few of the patterns that reminded me of October Afternoon paper. I know, you never can have too much of the same paper, right??!!

The stamped sentiment is from JustRite Stampers (Song in My Heart). I am new to JustRite stamps, but am loving them! I had to get a few of the stamper thingies since the original stamps are really not made to attach to clear blocks. You can use a block, if you use some double-stick tape or something, but it was easier for me to get the stampers. Especially when I had a store credit at CropStop! {grin}
I cut my ovals with Spellbinders die templates. I used S4-110 Classic Ovals Large, S4-112 Classic Ovals Small, and S4-314 Lacey Ovals.

Copic Certified Designer!
Check it out! I am now a Copic Certified Designer! I took the certification class on Sunday with the always amazing Marianne Walker! She works for Copic, and is an artist of the first degree! Marianne's blog, I Like Markers is a treasure trove of ideas!
Now, I had already taken a this very same class from Jenni Black last year, however it was not for certification, sadly. I also took a class from Debbie Olson in Arizona in April, again, not for certification. So this class was overkill for me, but...I wanted the piece of paper saying I was certified! And I wanted to hear what Marianne had to say, as she's a "hot shot" in the industry! And she's very FUNNY!!
So, I dragged my backside down to San Diego yesterday morning...had a horrible time finding parking! But...for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE...I backed into a parking space! And no one was there to see it! I was amazing...it took me only 2 tries to get the big ole mini van backed into a space the size of a napkin! Honest! I have never been so proud of myself. And I didn't even cry!
I also ran into a friend at the class and made some lovely new friends, so the day was a good one. I can't say I learned anything new, but it was still nice to hear the information again, and get some tips on the techniques I've not yet mastered. And now I feel justified in buying MORE markers! {giggle}
Here is a card I made back in the fall...which I think I did a pretty good job with.
Here is a card I made last week.
I don't see any improvement in my work. I need to learn more about shading, light source, shadowing, etc. I wish that had been the class yesterday. There was a tiny bit of that sort of information, but I need more. I am not trained as an artist, so this is an area with which I struggle. I will buy Marianne's book (Shadows and Shading) and perhaps will also get her new book coming in June (The Copic Coloring Guide). I really do want to improve my technique!
At the end of the day, I am finally Copic Certified and hope to have my blinkie up soon! {grin} I am happy with that. And I loved meeting all the new gals yesterday. I think there were about 30-34 ladies in the group!

CPC Wednesday CASE Artist!
I have been chosen as the CASE Artist at Christian Paper Crafts today! Each week Jan picks someone's gallery and CASE's a project or idea. She does a nice little write up, plus Taylor adds to the write-up. If you go over there and read what they had to say about me...I'm pretty amazing I guess! {giggle} Those girls are WAY too KIND! I am not nearly as great as they make me out to be! I was reading with my jaw on the floor. I only pray I can live up to their lovely words!
I've been mucking about with CPC for a couple of years now. I think when Patter Cross closed down her challenge blog (I was on her team for a while) she directed me to CPC and the rest is history. I've been doing sketches for them since the end of 2009, and I was doing some other DT work for them up until recently, when I got so busy. I try to keep my hand in on the Message Board by telling what I know, no matter if anyone wants to read it or not! {grin}
If you are looking for a safe place to play in challenges, chat, share your faith, grow your faith, and more, check out CPC. It's a nice community of folks! There are not only paper craft challenges, but Bible Studies, and just plain old chatting.
In honor of being chosen as the CASE Artist I thought I'd share my favorite sketch and card from the past. I chose Sketch #97. It's simple, but has a lot of layers. Is clean, but has the option to "junk it up"!
This was my sample card for Sketch #97.
I had just purchased these lovely My Mind's Eye papers and those yummy Prima flowers, plus I think the Our Daily Bread Designs stamps were NEW. I really love this card, especially how all of the prints just came together. I love me some printed paper!
I hope you enjoy playing along this week. For those of you not able to access the CPC Gallery, feel free to poke around here on my blog and CASE something! Have a blessed...and groovy...day!

CPC Sketch Tuesday #109
Blogger! Ugh! I set this to post at 5:00 AM PT and...it was sitting in draft mode when I checked at 9:00 AM. I am so over these blog issues!

I know some of you like to print the sketches and keep them in a binder, so I hope to work on a download for you...but don't hold your breath for me to get to it!

CPC Sketch Tuesday #108 - on Saturday?
If you are looking for the Flourishes/Spellbinders Blog Hop, scroll down.
I am finally getting around to posting the CPC Sketch Tuesday sketch and sample. I am so behind here in Gloria World. Our trip back east was exhausting and stressful. Please continue to pray for my father-in-law as he battles liver cancer. He's very ill and frail right now. However, his scans on Tuesday show no new cancerous growth or spreading! Praise God! The doctors think the new medication is keeping the cancer from growing, so now we need FIL to eat and gain back some of the weight he's lost, and to just try to hang strong while the meds do their job. He has been given an appetite enhancer type drug, so hopefully that will work to put some weight back onto him. I do think our visit did him a world of good. I am happy we were able to change our trip and go at this time. The Lord watched over us every step of the way, that's for sure!
Now, on to Sketch Tuesday #108! Better late than never, right?!
The paper is brand new Basic Grey Sweet Threads! So pretty! This little image is from Greeting Farm. I colored her with Copics, then fussy cut her, and popped her off the page with some foam squares. I was stuck fussy cutting because my Copic puked on my paper and made splotches all around my pretty image! This is what happens when you use markers at high altitude!
I think she turned out so cute and did not want to waste her due to my marker accident. I love the pink and green combo, so when I saw this paper, I knew it was perfect for this image. Love when that happens!
I used a Gina K stamp for the inside greeting. I really need to step up my game on my card insides. I have some friends who make the inside look as amazing as the front of the card! I just do enough to make it easy to use the card if I need to get something in the mail last minute!
Supply List
Cardstock : American Crafts, Stampin' Up; Designer paper: Basic Grey Sweet Threads; Stamps: Greeting Farm, Gina K; Ink: Copic Markers, Memento Rich Cocoa dye ink; Embellishments: Pearls from Want2Scrap, Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon; Adhesive: Scotch 3M ATG and foam tape

Flourishes and Spellbinders Blog Hop!
Welcome to the joint Flourishes and Spellbinders Blog Hop! The Spellbinders team is joining forces with our Preferred Partner Flourishes today to show off stamps that coordinate with Spellbinders™ die templates!
After much upset due to the Blogger "issue" I'm able to post! I was so excited about this first Hop as part of the NEW 2011 Spellbinders DT, and then...poof! My post went...well...postal! But here it is! All for you, constant reader! {high five}
We don’t need to tell you that tags and labels are two of the trendiest items to hit the card making market in a long time! And, to help you add style and pizazz to your creations, Flourishes has teamed up with Spellbinders Paper Arts to make sure you have the perfect set of stamps to match a darling set of tag style dies. Wonderfully whimsical and reminiscent of Grandma’s calico prints, Flourishes “charming” set offers three labels that coordinate perfectly with Spellbinders Grommet Tags (S4-322). Designed by Becky Fleck, you'll also find 6 beautiful sentiments and 4 accent stamps to dress up your labels!

Here is my card. As luck would have it, I do not own the Grommet Tags set, I had to get creative with my design!
I stamped one of the sentiments from the Country Charm Labels set, then cut and embossed it with the Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small (S4-112) die template. I also cut an oval with the Lacey Ovals (S4-314) template. I made some "ribbon" tails out of paper using the Nested Lacey Pennants (S5-029) template.
I stamped the Country Charm Borders buttons stamps onto some kraft cardstock, then I tied on some actual buttons! I also tied some floss through the button holes of the stamped buttons. Super cool, right?!
That fabbie paper is from Fancy Pants, from the It's the Little Things line. All the cardstock is Bazzill Smoothies. Both of these amazing companies are Cross Promotional Partners with Spellbinders.
Keep in mind, if you like what you see, both the Country Charms Labels and Country Charms Borders are available now -- just click the links to shop! Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Canvases and Shadow Boxes, Oh My!
I had posted this the other day, but Blogger ate my post! So I'm trying to recreate this for you!
This is a group of canvases and shadow boxes that I made for Hampton Art Stamps. They are in partnership with Graphic45 so I was able to use the fabbie G45 papers and Hampton Art stamps! G45 has a nice write up on the G45 Blog this week, but I wanted you to have some extra details.
Part of my task was to use Clearsnap inks and sprays. What fun! This first canvas is 5x7. I sprayed it with a number of Smooch Spritz inks. After the ink was dry, I attached the altered G45 policy envelope to the canvas.
To create the fantastic dress form image, I placed a Hampton Art screen onto G45 paper and sprayed with the Smooch Spritz.
Layering is so easy with the G45 staples! I used both the paper and metal flower staples for this project.
To add color to the metal flower staples, I painted them with Smooch paints, then embossed them with clear embossing powder. (Be CAREFUL when you heat the metal flowers! They get HOT!)
I stamped some images, then fussy cut them and then added some Smooch Spritz and paint.
The next canvas is an 8x10, which I turned into a frame. I covered the canvas with G45 paper, which I sprayed with Smooch Spritz.
I did a lot of layering again with the G45 staples and tags. Plus I used some stamped images.
Do you see the black and white rolled roses? Those are made from a glue dot and some G45 trim. You just stick the trim to the glue dot and twist and roll. So easy!
You can see that I stamped the lady image onto G45 text paper. It gives the stamped image the look of an advertisement.
I also made a few shadow boxes. This one is an 8x10 size.
This is an easy way to make some home decor. You just cover the back panel of the shadow box with some fabbie G45 paper, add a few bits and pieces and ta da!
I created a little montage with some vintage dress patterns and buttons and things. The rolled rose here is made with a Cosmo Cricket Gluber and an old dress pattern. I fussy cut the stamped image and pop dotted her to add some dimension.
This last shadow box is a 5x7 done in a travel theme.

Graphic45 Mother's Day
I want to wish both my mother and my mother-in-law a very happy Mother's Day! In fact, I want to wish all the moms in my life a happy day today! I am actually in Connecticut with my mother-in-law and father-in-law, and (hopefully) enjoying a mom's day breakfast with them!
I made this project for Graphic45, and for whatever reason decided to make it a Mother's Day project! As a mom myself, I always feel like I'm in the middle of a three ring circus! So, this is not that odd of a theme! I altered a page from one of the Graphic45 black policy envelope albums, which made a great canvas for my project.
I layered on a lot of Le Cirque papers, including altering some G45 packaging to make a giant tag!

I created that fantastic flower using the Spellbinders Carnation Creations (S5-049) die templates and one of the new Graphic45 metal buttons. Check out the fabbie bling! I think those are from Recollections and Prima.
I stamped the greeting with a stamp from StampingScrapping . Then I cut it out with Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio Three (S4-323), and added more flowers cut with the Spellbinders Carnation Creations die template.
The best part is the metal tag from G45. That guy looks like a small door plate! So cool! I put one of the G45 tags on top, attached with a brad. Fab! I made a fabbie rolled rose using May Art pleated ribbon and a Cosmo Cricket Gluber! What an EASY way to make a ribbon rose! I added a Prima jewel to the center for that added bit of glitz.
Check out the feathers! I found some bundles of feathers at the craft store, in the floral department, and they were just begging to come home with me! This project is glamorous and sparkly. And heavy! I had a ton of fun making this. (And if you love it, wait until Father's Day...)
I'll be back home on Wednesday night, so look for more posts late in the week. I will not be posting the CPC Sketch Tuesday on time this week, but check the CPC Blog on Tuesday as the girls should have it posted there for you!
We continue to pray for my Father-in-law's health. I am also praying for my own mother who will be leaving her home of over 60 years in a few weeks, to move to another state to live with one of my older brothers. This is very hard for her, but is the best choice for her at this point. I am sure the Lord has His mighty hand on all of us during these times.

The Circus is Coming!
Ok, not really! I just have a Graphic45 Le Cirque card to show you. I love the bright yellows and rusty reds of this line. This is a birthday card I made a few months ago.
Lots of yummy layers! My fav! I cut the sentiment with Spellbinders S4-114 Standard Circles Large and S4-194 Classic Inverted Scalloped Circles Large. I placed a wide piece of black grosgrain ribbon across the card, then I sprayed seam binding to make a matching wrinkle ribbon to tie over the grosgrain.
This is not a very exciting post, I know. I do have another circus-themed project going up on Mother's Day, so check back for that. I am trying to schedule some posts for the next few days, but I don't have much time to get things ready. We are leaving tomorrow at o'dark thirty to fly to the east coast to see my in-laws. My father-in-law is quite ill, so all of you prayer warriors out there, please lift Arthur up in prayer.

CropStop Sketch - Challenge #18
Well, it's the first Thursday of the month, which means Sketch Challenge Day at the CropStop Challenge Blog! Here is the sketch for you. I love creating sketches with lots of layers. I hope you enjoy playing along!
Keep in mind that May is Copic Month at CropStop! DT member Michelle has a Copic tutorial for you every Monday! Plus,CropStop will randomly draw one winner from all challenge entries during the month of May to win a collection of the 12 new Copic colors and lots of other goodies! How cool is that?!
As for me, well, I made my card, following the sketch, and then realized I forgot to use Copics! Doh! So I colored some pins and ribbon with Copics and added those! Whew!
The pins and ribbon where white when I started out. Now, they match my papers!
For all of you Copic fans...I will be attending a Copic Certification class May 22nd in San Diego! I am super excited to finally get certified. Since I hope to be paid for some design work soon, I have the funds to buy even MORE Copic markers! Woot woot!
