Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon June Blog Hop! Summer is well and truly here in my neck of the woods! We have been here in the new location for about 8 1/2 months and are coming into our second hot season! So far it has been very nice to have summer weather, which gives a chance to have a dip in the pool!
You should be coming to my blog from Ginny's Blog. After visiting me hop on to Kathy's Blog next! (The full blog list is at the end of the post.)
At the end of the hop, comment on the RRR Blog post, answering the question listed, for a chance to win the June Ribbon Club Assortment shown below. The Design Team appreciates your comments, too!
The June Ribbon Club is called Jungle Fun Assortment. Check it out! It is really interesting and unique! I have another BRAND NEW home decor panel for you today! I am getting closer and closer to finishing up the series...at long last! (See below for the full list of panels already created.) I have deviated from using Authentique papers to using Graphic 45 this time! This 6" x 6" chipboard-wrapped home decor panel is a celebration of summer and tropical vacations. However...when I used the "This is my happy place" sentiment...it means my craft room! Since I plan to display this panel on my craft table in August, it makes perfect sense to me!
I used the Graphic 45 Lost in Paradise paper collection and ephemera cards. Well, I used only leftovers and scraps! I had a lot of scraps of this collection left from a mini album project and a fancy card project I had made when the paper first was released (see HERE and HERE), and I wanted to try to use up all the extra bits!
Pro Tip: When working with paper that has a text print background, make sure your chipboard is placed precisely to avoid the background looking as if it is running downhill. I use a T-square to measure carefully before placing my chipboard onto my paper.
I created a big, loopy bow with the Toucan on White Satin ribbon, and glued it to the top of the project. I used some hot glue to shape the bow the way I wanted it. I then added another bow using the Watermelon Delicate Stitched Satin ribbon and glued it below the toucan satin. (I know the color says "watermelon" but it is a lovely dark coral color to my eye.) I then created a smaller bow from the Yellow Gold Plaid ribbon and glued it on top of the large bows. I wanted a small flower to top off the bows, but I didn't have one the right size or color, so I pulled apart a
Lotus flower that was the correct shade. I just gently pulled off the bottom two layers of petals and used the smaller, top flower. I also used a
Peach Rose Bud and a partial
Rose Leaf. (I am not sure where the tiny yellow flower and the stamen are from. They were just floating around the bottom of the container!)
Now, hop over to Kathy's Blog to see what she has for you!
